apache license

i've read that the apache, open source, license is "insane," "kruft," etc. (well i haven't heard it a lot; only on select occasions)  what makes this so?  what problems do you see with the apache license?

When I think "free software", I picture a license saying simply "do whatever you want, lol". That's freedom to me.
