Good latex style for a thesis

Name: abez !XWEgiX8ArQ 2005-07-05 19:52

Right now I'm just using the report documentclass and headings, does anyone have a favorite thesis style in LaTeX?

I care mainly about:
   titlepage
   copyright notice
page numbering the prefacing crap with roman numerals
   starting at chapter 1

All without much hassle, I've done most of it by hand so far.

But using ancient, kludgy, sucky stuff is against my religion :P . Besides, CSS2 is several orders of magnitude more powerful and customizable than Latex, or MS Word for that matter. You can control every single pixel of anything. If you want any more control, you'd have to use a raster graphics editor.
