Last time I checked, «democracy» meant «the people actually get a say about shit that matters». By that definition, we've got precious few actual democracies on the planet.

Those that tried, got shut down. Either by force (like Iran or Chile), or by cancerous subterfuge from corpolitical overlords (like the US).
