What is a "democracy"? Another myth like communism. I should especially note, that Lenin and the commies called their rule "democracy" (народовластие) and the Red Army was in fact called "People's Army", while Jewish commissars were called "People's  Commissars" as if people ever voted for them. When commies lost legal elections, they started a full scale revolution (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Constituent_Assembly_election,_1917).
