Let's have some actual discussion here.
Some American cities are trying to ban sitting on the sidewalk. Not BLOCKING the sidewalk, sitting to the side of the walkway. Or in plazas.
Now. I like to do this, as do some of my friends. Many little kids I know like to sit on the sidewalk. It feels like a basic right, in a public place.
The argument for the ban is that bums tend to congregate in the downtown, and create an unfriendly environment.
I think that addressing the behavior with laws that are already in place is probably the way to go: banning sidewalk sitting seems silly and fascistic to me.
(Of course /newpol/ Nazis may take offense at this, lol)
