Clearing selling guns to every lunatic who wants them is safe, I mean, who doesn't bring their full-automatic rifle to the cinema? To do anything less would be "unpatriotic".

That is a possible contributing factor as to why mass shootings occur in these places. If it occurs in a bank or sensitive areas covered by corporate security the shooter is usually dead before he has even killed anyone.
