group has consisted of three MCs and musicians Michael "Mike D" Diamond (vocals, drums), Adam "MCA" Yauch (vocals, bass) and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz (vocals, guitar).


Michael Diamond was raised in an upper-middle-class Jewish household.

Adam Nathaniel Yauch was born an only child in Brooklyn, New York, the son of a social worker, and a painter and architect.[2] His mother was an American Jew.

Adam Keefe Horovitz was born in South Orange, New Jersey to Doris Horovitz (née Keefe) and playwright Israel Horovitz.
