Secular as nationalism may be, it does tend to (want to) elevate its Precious Fatherland to outright godhood, and in the process becomes something of an organised religion in its own right, in all but name.
In that respect, nationalism and religion are two worms in the same apple; they're built on pretty much the same ideas, and they both fag up the world in pretty much the same way.
And the cure for both is the same: for people to wake up and call bullshit. Which just fkin ain't gonna happen.
