Jews and Gays

So why do modern LGBT people cooperate with Jews? Wasn't it Judaism, that proscribed killing homosexuals, while in Ancient Greece, Roman Empire and Japan homosexuals weren't seen as something evil? So, whom gays should see as the ultimate root of their problems?
