What exactly would ``the West'' have to gain from not having Putin and Medvedev in power? It's not like Russia is isolated from Western countries like back in early Soviet days. Russia does quite a lot of trade with Western countries, and is becoming very hyper-capitalist (that is a sort of despotic tyranny all by itself) like the US is now.
