They renamed communism for the express purpose of pretending they are "libertarian socialist" or whatever and not communist, I am discussing semantics here but there is a logical reason for calling this phenomena something other than communism being that it is a universal phenomena. Long before the communists there was the french revolution and it's ideology, before that religion and tribalism, you see communism and all it's sub-set ideologies such as national socialism, social democracy, maoism, democratic socialism, marxist-leninism, anarcho-syndicalism and stalinism are just what are popular today.
