Budget "crisis"

Republicans are treating state and federal budget crises by chipping away at a tiny percentage of the budgets.   No way do they want to take on SSI/Medicare or the DoD.

It's like treating a multiple gunshot wound victim by removing a splinter from his foot.

Well done, Tea Party.

The Federal Debt is currently a smaller percentage of GDP than it was in the glorious 50s.  The crisis is manufactured.  Politicians are chanting big numbers at you, hoping you'll get scared, but the facts are that just as richer people can carry more debt, so can richer societies.
