Operation Payback/ Avenge Assange

I've been following closely the news articles being released about "the hacker organization Anonymous" and it's efforts to attack the enimies of Piracy and Freedom, but I don't understand why more isn't happening.  DDoS attacks are cool and all, but why aren't the scary hackers hacking?  Why can't every Channer have information that would actually cripple these banks?  Right now we are chilling in our basement, using only a few of the tools available to fight with.  Can't more be done?  Assange is under house arrest now, awaiting deliberation as to whether or not he will be extradited to Sweden.  What happens if Assange dissappears?  If Wikileaks is no longer able to fight, what then?  Who will lead the fight against secrecy and corruption?  And I guess my most important question would have to be this:  What can I do to help?  What can I do that would help change the world?

If you knew you were being hacked then we'd be certain sure shit hackers. Read more books.

There are no hackers on 4chan. Even if you could hack a bank they don't joke around it doesn't matter how many proxys you are behind they are going to find you and you would be going to prison for a LONG time.
What happens if Assange dissappears
Assange is just a spokesperson for wikileaks, wikileaks would continue to exist and operate.

I wasn't saying that jail time isn't serious either though.  I, no more than any sane, educated individual wish to be incarcerated.  I'm simply asking, when do such "pranks" go from jail time to death sentence?  I just want to live in a fair, just world.  Not one where the world's super powers are diabolice, money hungry, power mongering, iron fisted entities, controling every aspect of my life.
