Anti-Kettling techniques

I have been looking at the recent demonstrations in the UK over tuition fees and was wondering why the demonstrators don't split up in to many different groups as soon as they see police congregating instead of waiting to be kettled when it is too late to do anything, or why not plan marches to have multiple groups?

Because 99% of the protestors are peaceful and it's the only the far-right infiltrators who want to fight.

thats entirely not true. a lot of the protests begin with:
1. Peaceful student demo
2. "Anarchists" of all types show up
3. Cops get PISSED!
4. Break stuff
5. Everyone is bored by this point

Send runners a couple of blocks ahead of the main protest as scouts (don't forget left/right scounting for escape routes). Use them to bring back info on police locations and buildups. May may start getting to the point where protesters should simply have to find the weekest point before the kettle can be secured and rush it.

After reading a few site that are proping up I think it's time they we get over devisions of causes and start discussing raw tactics. What works and what doesn't and how do we adapt.

So many questions, not enough answers?

Does the use of police force indeed justify force against them?

Consequently has the temporary detention center, it's pretty much a given at this point, been located in Cannes, France for the next round of the G20?

And the biggest of all my questions, when will the CCTV filmed within the Toronto Film Studio Detention Center on Eastern Ave be released?

A good workaround might be to tweet cop positions and movements. Cops have radios to organise themselves, protesters have tweets and sms. Also, you guys need to learn about road blocks. You need to place obstacles in order for the police to break into smaller group. Still, it all depends on how determined and prepared the people are.

the reason ppl get kettled is because, in spite of all their "anger", when it comes to facing the police they're all little bitches... rather live on their knees than die fighting.

You don't expect the government to care for you, but you do place excessive trust in anyone who is part of your political "tribe", your idea of "more informed" is entirely subjective, it is due to psychological conditioning, humans are pack animals and your sub-culture and political beliefs are just manifestations of this. Why else do you think it's a good idea to break windows of high street shops which are struggling in the recession and will probably have to lay off workers (hurr workers of the world unite) to cover the costs when you could be canvassing and starting official petitions?

Tried it. It just doesn't work. Also, we don't just break shop windows. It is a mechanism and the police are part of it. Protesters protest. The police try to 'block' them off and usually tear-gas the shit out of them. That's when a protest turns into a riot and that's when shop windows are broken.

I think the police have this strategy to disperse legal protests and <b>then</b> claim they were being rowdy.
