I neither condemn nor support those attacks, but I can understand the anger of those participants. I am furious.

Not only are WikiLeaks and Assange's activities in WikiLeaks NOT a crime under U.S. and Australian law, the pressure by U.S. politicians on Mastercard, Visa and Paypal has made them roll over like dogs. Even if people within those companies support freedom of speech, the companies themselves caved - what of their freedom of expression, against the might of politicians with extreme views?

Perhaps the most egregious factor was that voluntary donations from thousands upon thousands of people across the world were frozen and unable to be accessed by WikiLeaks nor Assange's defence, when the money has been given for those specific purposes. The actions by those companies are an assault against their customers who use those services and our ability to choose how we spend our money.

Surely that is a violation of their terms of conditions of service and their contractual obligations. No crime has been committed by WikiLeaks, no charges filed, no law breached.

Freedom of Expression: Priceless.
For everything else, there's Mastercard/Visa/PayPal.

There is a saying: That which can be destroyed by the simple truth.....deserves to be.
