But it's people like Chomsky's fault for preaching about sacrificing individual freedoms for collectives that prevent democracy from fulfilling it's potential since democracy depends on the competence of it's voters, the entire philosophy of socialism is highly irrational in theory and unstable in practice, it is irresponsible for anyone trying to combat poverty and oppression to not reject it from the onset.
Most people who listened to this will never support a third party or an independant, they will never help to legitimize a third party so that it can enter the mainstream, they will not lobby for a weaker government. They will vote democrat to tax the educated professional upper-middle class into the ground in the belief they are "the rich", while supporting excessive regulations and state interventionism that allows the actual plutocracy to keep their lucrative monopolies, cartels and of course their ridiculously huge net worths.
