Fuck Rush Limbaugh

Name: Anonymous 2010-05-29 14:01

Seriously, I was just listening to him on the radio and couldn't be more offended.  Where the fuck does this guy get off?

He doesn't.  He goes all the way to higher levels of anger induction.  The question that is most important, however, is why do you feel angry?

He does it to get ratings, fool!

Name: Anonymous 2010-05-29 14:11

>>2
He's saying Obama is purposely trying to bring down America because we're too powerful.  What a fucking idiot.

So, then, since this may turn into a discount Rush thread, list your counterpoints.  Namely: "how President Obama's policies are strengthening America as a country."

this isn't a compare and contrast douche.  Rush Limbaugh spouts patently false and idiotic statements about anyone and anything he doesn't consider conservative enough everyday.  This is such a well known and established fact that a simple restatement of it is all that is required in circles where people have two fucking brain cells to rub together.

This isn't an established fact for someone who has no history of listening to him.  As far as I know the guy, he's just another radio voice who says very unflattering statements who people hate because he criticizes them (and gets ratings for doing so; that's a slap in the face, I guess).  And my request was simple and should be easy to construct: "explain how President Obama's policies are strengthening America as a country."  Since the OP referred to Rush's comments for today, I was hoping he would have concrete points from which to start constructing the argument.

I love rush limbaugh. haha

So basically what you're telling me is that you love shit?

Name: Anonymous 2010-05-29 21:12

Glenn Beck > Rush Limbaugh

Name: Anonymous 2010-05-29 23:19

>>10
That's like comparing horse shit to cow shit. In the end, all they amount to is just shit.

Name: Anonymous 2010-05-29 23:26

>>11
So you're not contesting the validity of his comparison?

Name: Anonymous 2010-05-30 0:11

>>12
No. I'm negating the validity of it. Since comparing two media shills is like comparing two piles of shit from two different animals.

Name: Anonymous 2010-05-30 0:27

>>13
Then let's do like we always do and compare shit.

Name: Anonymous 2010-05-30 2:01

I agree with the one asking for specificity and not with the one simplifying the debate down and saying it the points don't need validity, using simplistic comparisons that are currently baseless. Especially to an outside viewer who knows very little about this guy since I am not living in Amerikwa.

The point of me making this thread wasn't to point/counter-point Rush.  I just find it amazing that he thinks the president would purposely make America a weak country.

Also, he openly admitted he is mocking Obama.  But he justifies it "because he is mocking him with facts".  Keep in mind that during this whole "justification" that Rush didn't mention a single fact and merely continued to mock him.  He's a radical asshole no matter how you slice it.

I find that presidents have progressively made the United States into a weaker nation to the point where now most of the manufacturing and producing of goods is gone and we borrow nearly 3 billion dollars a day from foreigners to keep up our own consumption. So no, I don't blame Obama for this, but I also don't expect him to genuinely do anything about fixing or at least improving this situation either.

That's ironic considering his candidate promise.  Perhaps "change" really is overrated.

Cry moar.

"[spoiler]cry i say cry[spoiler]"

If you ever sit down and have a conversation with someone who has a honest difference of opinion with you, the conversation will yield an understanding of not just who that person is, but a chance to understand their perspective.

When I first heard Limbaugh on the radio over 10 years back, I had never heard of him before, but he sounded like he just liked to hear himself bitch the state of things, offering his opinion as fact.

The arrogance of talking to himself all these years and believing his own bullshit, has left him devoid of logical criticisms. I don't think he could have a real conversation with anyone that doesn't agree with him and be bothered with understanding their opinion. They are too far beneath his station.

"how President Obama's policies are strengthening America as a country."

Straw man. The fact that Obama's policies aren't working as well as he promised they would, don't prove that he is purposely trying to bring down America. The very notion that that the president would want that is offensive. At least to anyone that supports this president or his positions.

And whether or not he's doing a good job have nothing to do with OP's point. Rush says things that are intentionally offensive to get people angry. This is simply destructive. It doesn't prompt healthy debate. If anything it ruins the spirit of debate by adding heated emotion to it. Rush is a douche.

If you aren't already enraged, you aren't paying attention.

Cry moar.  Your tears are delicious.

The government as a whole has now become the antithesis of a good future for America. The House, the Senate, the judicial branch, the executive, it's all now rotten and corrupt to the core.

Back to /b/, please

Name: Anonymous 2010-07-10 22:46

Oh, come off it. If you think "rotten and corrupt" is a new trend in government, you're either too ignorant or too delusional to have a rational opinion.
