I see the collapse of the economies of the world as the breaking down of an old corrupt system imploding in on itself. This, I see as a good thing, because then the more aware individuals amongst the population can help to bring about a new renaissance.
It will not be easy though, there will be riots, civil, economic, and political unrest, but after the smoke has cleared, a great new beginning can emerge.

Under which things are status-quo wise, for the most part, yes. Though "success" among people is subjective. One man will tell you success is being at the top of the corporate latter, while another will tell you operating a small business on selling hand made furniture that the man makes all by himself would consider himself successful.
As for China, I say allow them to attend to their own affairs. United States and other western nations can bring back their former glory by bring back home manufacturing and quality, not using slave labor and marking it up to the highest bidder. We've essentially become a bottom line society due to profit, not quality being the bottom line. Profit, is necessary for businesses both large and small to stay alive, but these are times of disgusting excess profit, with the too big to fails being the worst offenders, and offenders of true free market capitalism, not fake capitalism which is more accurately deemed corporatism.
And that's all I have to say about that.
