I happen to like chickens, and would rather not eat or see them be eaten.

1) Chicken are cuter than whales.
2) Chicken are farmed, and the chickens you eat have not even seen daylight, the sea or breathed in fresh air
3) By killing one whale you can make enough whale burgers to feed a village for a month
4) To feed the same village with chicken nuggets, you have to kill millions of chickens
5) Before the whale got killed it had a wonderful life in the wild oceans
6) The whale gets killed by a harpoon with exploding warhead and dont suffer at all, but the chickens are killed in cruel ways

Interesting factoid: the Japanese actually have a peace clause in their constitution. Article IX of the Japanese constitution states:
"Aspiring sincerely to an international peace based on justice and order, the Japanese people forever renounce war as a sovereign right of the nation and the threat or use use of force as a means of settling international disputes.
In order to accomplish the aim of the preceding paragraph, land, sea, and air forces, as well as other war potential, will never be maintained. the right of belligerency of the state will not be recognized."
Another interesting factoid: America, after the war, helped them write their new democratic constitution. We did the same for Germany except minus the peace clause.
