Idea. Why don't we regulate the income of Senators and Congressmen based on the mode income of America? Not the average but the mode.

Would this then motive politicians to pass laws to optimize family income and intern optimizing their own income?

I have a different idea. Business needs to divorce from government completely. The Federal Reserve needs to be gutted, as well as the IRS, and the Sixteenth and Seventeenth amendments need to be repealed. Lobbyists will disband, and Congressmen will have no choice but to listen to their constituents, and Senators, their respective state legislatures.

I like it, but we can go one better.

A Senator or Representative's pay should be the pay of an average taxpayer in his district or state, minus the average tax burden in that district or state.
