Which countries have non-fringe seperatist movements? I can think of Canada, Spain, UK, Russia, Turkey, Belgium, Sri Lanka (if there are any Tigers left), India (mainly Kashmir)... some other Asian countries I'm not sure off how strong their seperatists are like Philippines, Malaysa, Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan, China,...)
Also, do you believe it is possible that a peaceful seperatist movement will be succesful in a stable and rich country? As far as I know that hasn't happened in modern times except for decolonization of course but that's a special case.
