why did apartheid last so long

the whites went from a sizable minority to a tiny minority in 80 years... other african countries could supply the sa blacks with ak47s rpgs mortars what would they need more to overthrow the whites... its easy to recognize the enemy... the color of their uniform is the color of their skin... yet they didn't, the whites gave up themselves... i really don't understand this

Even as an American I can agree with this statement. It's alarming (if not outright dangerous in the long run), how many American citizens absolutely refuse to look past their insular way of thinking and how they view the rest of the world.
