why did apartheid last so long

the whites went from a sizable minority to a tiny minority in 80 years... other african countries could supply the sa blacks with ak47s rpgs mortars what would they need more to overthrow the whites... its easy to recognize the enemy... the color of their uniform is the color of their skin... yet they didn't, the whites gave up themselves... i really don't understand this

south africa is the most modern, most highly industrialized, and wealthiest country in Africa and guess why? yup because the whites did it.
