Poll: GOP leads Dems on economy

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-08 18:22

Voters now trust Republicans more than Democrats on six out of 10 key issues, including the top issue of the economy.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% now trust the GOP more to handle economic issues, while 39% trust Democrats more.

This is the first time in over two years of polling that the GOP has held the advantage on this issue.

Yeah, so? Though >>7's comment is crude, it bears some truth.  To me, this poll indicates several things.  First is what I see as typical "waffling" behavior so reviled when exhibited by a politician, but apparently unnoticed when it's the public.  Second, I see simple fear.  Currently Americans do not like change.  It's more than just the issue; they would say "I like change, just not this kind!".  But there doesn't ever seem to be a consensus on anything long enough to actually get something done.  It's pathetic.  As soon as we try anything, "public opinion" sways back away from the decision, be it making war to "ensure democracy" or address the health of our citizens by instituting a national health system.
Some would say, and rightly so, that the Constitution was designed to be, let's say deliberate, but Damn!  It didn't stop the people who built this country in the 19th and early 20th centuries from making many many sweeping changes.  It would appear that America and it's Constitutional Republic has gone the way of Philosophy; at a dead end, wrapped up in semantics.
Because of fools and cowards.  When I was a Soldier I was often told "Do something, even if it's wrong!".  Well?
