New political system

We've heard the cliché about democracy being a bad political system.


So how about a system where policies are determined by the people? People would vote for the policy they wanted instead of politicians.

So instead of retarded plebs choosing which educated professionals they want to make all the important decisions they make the decisions themselves. Can you explain to me why you believe this would be a better idea?
