Norway targets sex clients

Name: Anonymous 2009-01-10 9:20

So glad I don't live in this feminist police state:

OSLO - A Norwegian law which came into effect on January 1 makes it a crime for Norwegians to buy, but not to sell, sex in Norway and abroad.

The main target for the legislation is the streets of Norway’s capital, Oslo, where the Norwegian authorities say they want to stamp out prostitution by targeting clients rather than prostitutes.

Norwegian citizens caught paying for prostitutes at home or abroad could face a hefty fine or a six-month prison sentence.

The Norwegian Minister Of Justice, Knut Storberget, has stated that all Norwegian sex clients should now be wary and has made it clear that the law also applies to Norwegians purchasing sexual favours outside of the country.

It will be difficult to prosecute, he said, but not impossible.

The Norwegian authorities have managed to punish pedophiles who have paid to have sex with children in Thailand and will be able to prosecute “normal” sex clients in the same way, he added.

I don't have a problem with it being outlawed..  it's the part about prosecuting people who seek adult prostitutes outside of the country..  now that really ticks me off.  I'm glad I don't live there, haha.

I don't think we will see an end to Norwegian fish-dildo porn.

I fail to see how they will be able to prosecute anyone for buying sex abroad. If buying sex abroad is illegal, and a person is caught doing it, then they will be prosecuted in the country where the offence took place. Prosecuting them in Norway would mean that a person is being tried for the same crime twice, even after being found guilty.

Now, if a person buy sex in a country where buying sex is not illegal, then they wont be arrested and prosecuted in that country, so how will the Norwegian authorities know that a Norwegian has bought sex in that country? How could they ever prove it?

>>5 is still using the outdated 19th Century paradigm of "rule of law" and "due process," I see.  Silly >>5.

They see your passport full of stamps to Germany, Netherlands, Brazil, and Thailand.  Oh wait, prostitution is illegal in Thailand.. but ppl rarely get busted of course, haha.

And everyone, everywhere, who has ever visited Thailand has been there for the sex trade only, right?  Or is the accusation enough in and of itself?

So much for the rule of law.

This is what happens when feminists buy into religio-fascist moralism, especially the idea of whores being sub-human.

But since whores are (usually) women, we just can't have that moralism out in the open, now can we? Oh, but that's right, these women are OPPRESSED! Yeah, that's it! We just need to make them realise that themselves!

There's also that male-chauvinistic bullshit that women "can't be pretty and smart at the same time". Then sexual attractiveness starts to equal "oppressing women" and all that crap. Mix that with the Victorian idea that "women shouldn't tempt men", with subtle emphasis on men's weakness in resisting temptation ("Ah! Yes! I just KNEW there was something wrong with them men-folk!")

And GOD FORBID any woman should make money (even worse: HER OWN money) from anything to do with sex (even modelling). (worse still: have the nerve to enjoy her work!) That really doesn't sit right with those people.

But they can't just outright ban women from being sluts, either. That would make them look far too much like those (male) priests for comfort. So instead they ban brothels, cos they "exploit women" and stuff. And fuck facts, like how they'd offer far better working conditions than roaming streets in crime-ridden parts of town could ever do.

And now that puxxoring their lives doesn't really cut it anymore, let's take away their business! That'll learn them! ("How DARE you come here and NOT have the sex life of a rape victim! Bitch!")
