Now I am going to be voting for the first time in my life as I have officially became of age (18). I need to know if there is somewhere I could find out about all my Preps and Measures, including my local Preps and Measures. Do they send you something after they receive your registration? When should I stop considering write in votes, because I am beginning to write Ron Paul and even though I know he won't win, I would still rather vote for someone I like. Anyways I have no idea where to find out about this stuff.

I got from here that someone told me to look towards the League of Women Voters and the League of Intelligent Voters or something. Anyways is there anyway of finding out about my local preps and measures, state preps and measures, and the candidates. All of the candidates. I am still pushing for Obama, but I am thinking of voting Ron Paul because I want to know I have the freedom to do so.

let's phrase it a different way, since our country (unfortunately) favors a predominantly 2 party system:
Would you rather have McCain or Obama in the white house?
I understand your argument, that you have a free choice in your vote, and should not be bound by the 2 parties. being able to cast your vote for any individual who meets the constitutional criteria for the job is your right as an american. However, think about it as a decision based on who the majority of the people are voting for. Ron Paul, while an excellent choice, will not receive anything close to a majority to win the presidency. If you also support Obama, why would you not vote for him, and push instead to promote public awareness of a free choice in candidates.
