It's because we're culturally opposed to having such a sane system. We pay the most in per-capita of any nation on earth, but 37 other nations still deliver better health care (according to UN metrics). We put 37 other nations ahead of our health care system since we think the PROFITS from it are more important than the actual HEALTH of the people. The USA is the land where money is far, FAR more important than people. PERIOD.
