What the hell is a "hispanic"

So I'm just curious, what exactlyi s a hispanic and whats the difference between a spanish person and a hispnic.

I dont know much about spain, is their culture so vastly different from south americans that they are classified as...what was it, white? Hell, south americans cultures are vastly different from each other.

Someone who's vernacular language is Spanish, and was born in or descends from Latin America. Someone from Spain is called a "Spaniard". Dumb Amerikkkans, however classify as "hispanic" ANYONE from or descending from Latin America. Which is fucking retarded since most of the Minor Antilles don't speak Spanish, and neither do the Guyanas and Surinam, Brazil, Belize and most of Bolivia and other native peoples living throughout Latin America.
