The problem is minimum wage, people just don't want to accept the economic reality that there is a much greater supply of their skills in the world than 20 years ago and they now have to compete. Instead of improving their skills or accepting lower wages they demand the government ensures they do neither and blame evil capitalists, as a result the economy doesn't adapt or improve. Meanwhile in China and India professionals need to become experts in their field and keep up with the latest developments in order to get paid the same as the equivalent lowest levels in our economy. Obviously completely unfettered laissez faire capitalism is the answer.
