I know I am not an economist, but looking at Obama's website, and reading the transcripts of his speeches, I see him promising to do things which would raise the federal budget by trillions, even if he were to magically end all Iraq War expenditures, and cut the DOD's non-Iraq budget by 75%.
At the same time, he promises to lower my taxes, balance the budget, and pay down the national debt.
The only way he could possibly do this, that I can see, is to implement windfall profit taxes, jack the capital gains tax through the roof, jack the top tier income tax through the roof, tax the shit out of businesses, and generally tax people everywhere but their paycheck.
Like I said, I am no economist, but wouldn't that slow hiring and sales to a fucking crawl? Then, to keep at bay massive increases in unemployment, wouldn't he have to lower interest rates? And then have to deal with inflation?
It seems to me that Obama promises to do all of the stupidest things that LBJ and Jimmy Carter did.
