"I think he's deliberately distorting the traditional understanding of the Bible to fit his own world view, his own confused theology," Dobson said, adding that Obama is "dragging biblical understanding through the gutter."
I don't see what the problem here is, though I must admit this is the first I've heard of this particular political farce.
Considering statistics like these (http://religions.pewforum.org/reports), it is blindingly obvious that people simply believes whatever suits them: preaching whichever parts they like, ignoring unpleasentries (especially those of weaker faith), and even blending in whatever newage bullshit fad comes their way.
"Biblical understanding" is bullshit. It's the religious nuts who are misunderstanding the purpose of ancient folklore.

I have to disagree with the conservatards on this one. One of America's redeeming features is it's history of religious plurality. There are 100s of sects of protestantism let alone the number of religious groups that thrive here, jews, muslims orthodox, catholics and new religions and offshoots that are only a few decades old. So why not cry "HERESY" over them instead? I would not be suprised if this guy wants to go full throttle on those he considers blasphemers but knows he would be scalded if he did so he just joins the "find something to whine about obama" wagon and lets rip.
Though I am a fully fledged member of this same wagon, Obama is going to turn the US tax system into swiss cheese and it will be businesses who will have to pay.

Dobson is a DOUCHE!
In an interview with Bill Bennett on Oct 16,2006, Dobson asked: "[I]sn't it amazing that there is such a sizable number of people in the media and in the liberal community that despise this country and its freedoms and they're doing everything they can to undermine it?" Bennett replied, "It's never been this bad in terms of the media."
Moments later he said
DOBSON: And here at Focus on the Family, we're not political. We do care a lot about the issues, but would it not be appropriate to say to our listeners, regardless of what your political affiliation is, and regardless of how you see the candidates that are going to be voted on very shortly, I beg you to think about the security of this nation and ask yourself, "Do the people that I'm putting in power understand this threat, and are they willing to confront it?"

Dobson is right. Obama knows much more about the Koran than the bible, as he is a Muslim.
