Have you noticed that they've stopped calling it "global warming"? Now its called "climate change" so that people can be blamed for any change in the climate. There's no way that people can actually change the entire world's climate based on CO2 emissions, becuase we simply don't produce any next to the amount that is produced by natural processes.

Here's an article about global cooling: http://acuf.org/issues/issue62/060624cul.asp

Most intelligent post in the thread yet.

I LOVE GLOBAL WARMING!!
I try to destroy the Earth as much as possible! It's fun!
I'm teaching my kids the joys of polluting also.

Name: Anonymous 2008-03-27 13:56

I always try to increase my "carbon footprint" as much as possible.

That's because idiots said, "Hey look, it's snowing outside.  Whelp, guess that's the end of global warming.  HURRRRR"

In fact, the average temperature of the globe is rising every year, despite what your local weather may indicate to you.  Protip: Your neighborhood =/= the world.

The climate change designation is also there because global warming may actually precipitate an eventual global cooling.

You talk like you actually believe this crap we're told. Ever seen a graph of the world's temperature over the last hundred thousand years or so? It's not a straight line let me tell you that. I mean we're still coming out of an ice age so why wouldn't the temperature of the earth change? Plus, why would it suddenly stop changing after so long of going up and down?

this is why democracy fails. If a retard doesn't have a clue about the issue, he can easily be fed misinformation, and while this simply sounds like DURRRRRRR HURRRRRRRRRR to an intelligent person, the retard vehemently will repeat his misconceptions.

Control over this issue should be left to a committee of scientists in the related fields, not a bunch of morons jerking over their double-digit IQ's.

I do too.  I pride myself on trying to be as annoying as possible to envirofags.

1. Global Warming is not real. We do not address it, and just deal with other problems.
2. Global Warming is not real. We do deal with it, and, though we devote a lot of capital to a false cause, at least pollution is curbed (if only slightly).
3. Global Warming is real. We do address it, and avert a catastrophe.
4. Global Warming is real. We do not address it, and shit gets real bad.

Seems to me like we should just hedge our bets and go green.

For all you Sodomites who think you can make a difference about climate change, I happen to be selling carbon credits at discount prices!!

Get in touch with me and for $50.00 I will plant a tree in your name!

I will, I promise!!

"1. Global Warming is not real. We do not address it, and just deal with other problems."

And then we get to reap the rewards of full utilization of cheap energy resources and activities that would otherwise be prohibited by the envirofascists.

"2. Global Warming is not real. We do deal with it, and, though we devote a lot of capital to a false cause, at least pollution is curbed (if only slightly)."

And then devote a lot of capital and resources toward a false cause as you said, and throw a wrench into the gears of the economy, fucking it all up.

"3. Global Warming is real. We do address it, and avert a catastrophe."

Even if it is real, it won't be a catastrophe.  The world has been far warmer than it is now before and it wasn't bad at all.  In fact, the amount of arable land expanded and we experienced an era of unprecedented economic productivity and prosperity...

"4. Global Warming is real. We do not address it, and shit gets real bad."

Except things won't get bad at all because 1) it isn't true, and 2) even if it was, it wouldn't be a bad thing anyways.

What makes you think you know what the "best" temperature for the world is? How do you know things wouldn't be a little better if it was a little bit warmer? Maybe it would be better if it was a little cooler? Maybe we don't know?

"Seems to me like we should just hedge our bets and go green."

And screw up the economy? I disagree.

Instead of listening to all the dirty hippies and libfags methods of saving the environment which very likely would rape the economy why not come up with a more economical way of reducing pollution.

e.g. Decrease the amount of material required to produce a particular product per unit produced.
Turn off the office lights, workstation monitors etc after everyone goes home.

Little shit that's easy to do (well not so much the first) saves resources and money.

Name: Anonymous 2008-04-03 17:48

The whole global warming hoax is just another way of sucking more money out of everyone's pocket for the benefit of an elite class.
Anyone who can't see that is moron.

What we need to worry about is not Global Warming but rather Global Dimming!

Don't worry. When global warming is disproven we'll whine about that instead.

moron, read science sites, not political blogs and forums
Your bullshit detector should have alarmed from the silly title alone.
"Global swindle?
Take the repeated claims that recent global warming is mostly or all due to solar changes. In 1991, for instance, a paper in Science claimed there was a striking correlation between variations in the solar cycle length and temperature between 1880 and 1980, suggesting greenhouse gases have not played as big a role as thought. However, the correlation has not held up after 1980. What is more, it turns out that the apparent correlation before 1980 is due to manipulation of the data. Despite being discredited, this graph is still being presented as evidence against human-induced global warming today."
