Actually, the statistics aren't being observed by international bodies, the international bodies just rely on the statistics provided by the government of Cuba.  That's kindof the point of many of the movies.  If Cuba is so great, why are there so many people who want to risk their lives to flee Cuba and come to the United States? I don't see Americans trying to risk their lives and break the law trying to get into Cuba..
