They are selfish. The politics they preach is about collective ownership of everything to the point where they say F*$# the individual. The people I meet who are "Progressive" are the most smug head in the clouds people I have met. Many a time I have heard the same Social Justice rants from them saying health care for the everyone would be better because people can't be trusted to make the decision to buy insurance for themselves. The corruption of market forces that makes perfect sense of economic efficiency and reality in education, currency, and foreign exchange seems to be their goal. They believe in fifty years, via socialism, a communist utopia will arise but in the mean time it is A OK to let a dictatorship of the "proletariat" screw the country's economy in the name of achieving their utopia. I just see them as being the ones who don't want to work and will not take care of themselves because sloth is the secret behind their political views.
I have come to view I have a very Libertarian slant to my political view points and believe employing your talents to serve the consumer in your society makes your life better. I don't mind not having universal health care: that I could easily pay for through private health and insurance anyway; gain care of superior quality and choice compared to the free services over in the UK, France, or Canada; not have to abstain from owning property because of the assumption this makes me "bourgeois" and that his means I must pay for everyone else's healthcare, if I had lower taxes so I can choose where my money goes. I wouldn't mind the lack of nationalised services as I know where my money is being used, to promote free and open enterprise, to create a flexible education system like they do in Texas because of how inefficient public schools are compared to home or private schools and to surpass the federal restrictions on education that prevents students from advancing beyond mandatory levels. I don't mind the lack of nationalised higher education when I look at the compounding debt other people accumulate in our welfare based economy knowing that students will go to university and grad school studies without the incentive to waste tax $s on useless degrees. I am shocked by the waste of money on public television and radio, it's like they're paying for /b/, a public /b/. I'm for personal freedom but I understand that it is wrong to expect people to relinquish their figurative "blood" (economic freedom) in order to fund my fickle whims.
I feel "Progressives" in truth don't actually give a shit about others and would rather save themselves then try to help kids from a burning building. Thats just my viewpoint from the endless propoganda pasted across high school, college and university, all those "Progressive" rallies I have accidentally attended under the guise of "Amnesty international", as well as friends, who's beliefs I am capable of accepting, who lack the political consciousness to see past the endless stream of hot steamy libfaggotry splashing over their faces whom then go on to claim they are progressive because they are "non-conformist" and that I am the one who has been duped by state propoganda!
