The bad news is
This war started in 2003 and is still raging on to this very day. It has taken 4 long brutal years and the conflict is still not over. So far the civilian death count is over 76 000, you all probably know how tragic it is to lose someone close to you, now imagine how the Iraqi people feel about this war, they have lost more than just a family member; they have lost their way of life; their culture; and their very own freedom! do you think they want this? I think not! But this is just the tip of the iceberg of the tragedy that is the war in Iraq.
Throughout this war over 567 billion dollars have been wasted on useless attempts to liberate this country when this could have been spent on cancer research or to help 3rd world countries or feed starving children.
As in the immortal lyrics of the song boom by system of a down “4000 hungry children leave us per hour from starvation while billions are spent on bombs creating death showers.”
After 4 years of war the protests still continue, yet out stubborn politicians who hold our future and more importantly the future of the impoverished people of Iraq in their hands still refuse to listen.
America itself; the so called greatest power in the world have recently been overwhelmed by increasingly more outspoken comments by the opposing democrat party pleading for logic and compassion to end the devastation and destruction that is the war in Iraq.
When America first invaded Iraq in 2003 a Gallup poll was taken in the USA. which indicated that 75% thought that the invasion was not a mistake. Fortunatly the tides are turning; in May, 2007, the New York Times and CBS News released similar results of a poll in which 61% of participants believed the U.S. "should have stayed out" of Iraq.
Peace IS an option we must all ask ourselves; what do people on this planet value most of all? What is the one enduring characteristic that helps the people of iraq to survive another day? Its hope! What is life without hope? When there is hope there can be peace, peace to be able to live without fear or without predjudice, to survive comes first! They will then be able to nurture, to achieve, to grow and finally to live in peace and contentment, the one and only wish of all of us! Thank you
