Greed has created all the prosperity we are seeing now because people had the desire to make money and create products and services to begin with.  Were it not for greed, we'd all be living in some mud huts, crapping in a communal pot, wallowing in our own shit, wearing the same filthy rags every day, and wondering wheather or not there would be enough food on the table in the next couple days.
