The military's too damn big

why doesn't any politician have the guts to express this simple truth?

The military itself isn't that large, (numbers wise), it's rather the spending on technologies that we don't need, or rather don't use since there are not enough people there to use them. For every five normal soldiers in the United States military there is one officer, that is another one of the overbalanced parts of the military.
