Hillary Clinton: Give Licenses to Illegals

Hillary Clinton has expressed her support of a democrat governor of New York in his plan to allow illegal aliens to get driver's licenses.  Interestingly, under Bill Clinton's motor voter law, it would seem they would then be allowed to vote as well.  As you'd imagine, the illegals would then be very likely to vote in favor of candidates who are against border security like Hillary - candidates who would pass more laws favorable to illegal aliens.  With such a huge influx of illegals into the country, they could become a powerful force in American politics under this scenario.

wait?  how could they vote?  this would give them the right to drive, not to vote.

idiot

The motor voter law allows anyone with a valid driver's license to vote.

Idiot.

no it doesnt.  it allows you to register at the same time trough a separate process provided that you're a legal citizen.  seeing how the proposed plan would require illegals to have a valid passport before they get their driver's licenses, i don't see how they'd register to vote.

it's the exact same process for legal immigrants.  they can drive, but they can't vote.

Faggot.

lol circular reasoning

remember, anyone who votes republican and is NOT filthy rich is voting to screw themselves.  especially poor dumb fundies.  in fact, fundies voting repub. is especially funny considering most of their policies are distinctly UNchristian.  you know, screw the poor in a multitude of ways, screw the environment, etc.

>>8  |One simply fills out a form and checks a box stating he is a citizen; he is then registered and in most states does not have to show any ID to vote.

faggot.  you don't just walk in and get a driver's license.  you have to show extensive proof of who you are first.  it's no different for non-citizens.  why is there not outcry when legal residents get driver's licenses?  because the potential for fraud is virtually non-existant.

"faggot.  you don't just walk in and get a driver's license.  you have to show extensive proof of who you are first. "

Faggot.  That's redundant since the illegals would be able to get driver's licenses whether they were illegals or not, and this is their key to being able to vote.

moron under the proposed legislation they would need a valid passport, which can't be faked, before they got a drivers license.  heres a video of Gov. Spitzer explaining the photo.

But what about America's freedoms?

Who cares if they have valid passports or not? If they are illegals and we allow them to have driver's licenses, it thus follows that it would be easy for them to vote.

At first I thought "slippery slope fallacy", but I've heard Californian liberals say they believe everyone in the world should get to vote in the US elections so I wouldn't be suprised.

ok, tell me how that would work faggots and please be sure to address the fact that you need proof of citizenship (birth certificate, passport) to either get a driver's license or register to vote.  and be sure to address why you're not overly concerned about LEGAL immigrants who have driver's licenses but don't vote.

What would work is to evict all illegal immigrants and make them enter the country through the proper channels as is our right as a sovereign nation and the fully exercised right of every other country on the planet when it has the power to do so.

Filthy illegal aliens from Mexico have been ruining communities one after another for decades. Herd them up and ship them home!

they were essentially invited here by small business and larger cooperations.  you kick them out, those industries are in trouble.  why do you think the chamber of commerce is for letting more people in legally?

Then let more people in LEGALLY, but PUNISH those who broke the law.  The bottom line is that we should enforce the laws we have, or else get rid of them.  You shouldn't be able to pick and choose between which laws we'll enforce and which we won't and when.  If we deport SOME illegals, the punishment should be the same for the rest of them who have committed the same crimes under the same circumstances until we change our laws.

-"Then let more people in LEGALLY, but PUNISH those who broke the law."
yes to part 1, no and why to part 2

-"The bottom line is that we should enforce the laws we have, or else get rid of them. "
well.. kinda begs the question why we have outdated laws

-"You shouldn't be able to pick and choose between which laws we'll enforce and which we won't and when."
I'll leave you with a quote from Republican frontrunner Rudy Giuliani: "It's not a crime, I know that's very hard for people to understand, but it's not a federal crime.  I was U.S. attorney in the Southern district of New York, so believe me, I know this. In fact, when you throw an immigrant out of the country, it's not a criminal proceeding. It's a civil proceeding."

It would work because the immigrants would have enterred legally and we wouldn't have to go through all this shit in the first place.

"yes to part 1, no and why to part 2"

Because if we are going to have laws, we should enforce them? Passing laws and then allowing people to break certain laws selectively and not others undermines the rule of law and isn't fair.  If you are going to punish some people for breaking some laws but not punish others for breaking laws, it not only lowers the regard for the law, it jeopardizes our system of government as we know it.  The laws are supposed to apply equally to everyone... we aren't supposed to just pass laws and then selectively enforce them.
