Democrats Rush to Politicize California Fires

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-24 21:59

Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer, and Ted Kennedy have now blamed the California fires on global warming, essentially blaming republicans and George Bush for resisting their attempts to regulate and tax the shit out of American business, freeing up more oil for China and crippling the United States in the global marketplace.

Kinda funny how if it is too hot, the democrats blame global warming.  If its too cold, it must be global warming.  If it is rainy, it must be global warming.  If it is too dry, it must be global warming.  If there's a hurricane, it must be global warming.  If there's a tornado, it must be global warming.  The democrats love to connect everything to global warming, and in this case they are trying to bend public perception of this disaster to promote their left-wing agenda.  The truth is is that authorities suspect it was arson, but nevermind that, the Bush-derangement syndrome that is becoming something of an epidemic is leading people to other conclusions.  Yeah, forget the guy they spot running around with a blow torch and a gas can, it is all George Bush's fault for not signing the Kyoto protocal.

Well, aside from ignoring the fact it probably is global warming, whats your point?

It's the EPA and their unscientific fire prevention policies. People in regions of the world with a wet season and a dry season have been burning the local vegetation a few weeks after the start of the dry season for millenia. It's obvious, plants generate chemical energy and the ferocity of a fire is dependant on the amount of chemical energy available per area of ground so you need to burn it off once a year to prevent if building up and to keep the cycles predictable.

Long story short the EPA has less knowledge about the natural world than African goat herders.

MASSIVE FAIL for thinking the EPA has anything to do with forest fires.

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-25 0:11

Actually, I've been hearing that people are setting these fires. That is, they are not natural.

But >>3
is correct.

I seriously think the government is setting them. Anytime anything "IMPORTANT" gets over saturated in the news I get a funny feeling.

Fire is a natural phenomenon in California. I was worried about a girl I knew in HS and goes to Pepperdine U in Malibu. She said that the fire burned the Social Science building. Scary reality.  Besides imagine if Democrats were in power as long as the Republicans have been in government, then they might say Democrats are causing global warming. It's fucking industrialization's fault.

I think it's funny how environmentalists oppose controlled burns or limited logging of areas like these to PREVENT fires because it'll be 'bad for the environment,' then when the fire comes along because of their faggoty policies, they blame it on global warming and the republicans.

The jews did it

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-25 11:14

Probably started by some noob environmentalist to "prove the danger" of global warming

A salute to the idiots in this thread! Thanks for making America the giant fuck-up that is, guys. Those of us who are actually trying to make it a better place really appreciate it. Really.

Those who are saying the fire was caused by arson are especially idiotic. Global warming does not START fires, dumbasses. However, it does CAUSE forest fires, in that it causes droughts that make forest fires more likely.

So regardless of who/what started the fire, the reason the fires we've had this year have been so many and so large is probably global warming.

So? People live in areas where brush fires are an annual event that they start themselves. The problem is the EPA being a corrupt state bureaucracy as a result of socialists attempting to force their unrealistic ideals on everyone.

The fact the wind was coming from Arizona and blowing toward the coast probibly had more to do with why they got out of control. I'm not discounting global warming but the wildfires always get really bad when the winds are coming from the desert.

Global warming doesn't "CAUSE" fires either. It can aggrivate them for the reasons you just stated. Yes I am being semantic because you can't fucking use words correctly.

Name: Kanjisasahara 2007-10-27 22:19

The fires were reported to have been started by arson but it was probably a camp fire mistake as many fires do. But the Santa Ana winds combined with dry grass made the fire uncontrollable. The weather cycle is a little messed up to global warming but fires like the one in California right now have been happening forever. its not like it hasn't happened before. There have been plenty of fires worse than the one in California so blaming it on global warming is just plain stupid.

What about the fact that the EPA prevented fires for so long that excess vegetation built up to the point where a major fire was impossible to stop? Every fucking region on the planet with a wet season and a long hot dry season burns off grasslands annually to prevent the build up of flammable material and to provide fertilizer for the west season. Why the fuck didn't the EPA do the same and why the fuck are their dick suckers too stupid to notice this?

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-28 2:08

Hey cool. I can't shit right... it must be global warming!
You fools ever heard of eugenics?

"The fires were reported to have been started by arson but it was probably a camp fire mistake as many fires do."

The authorities disagree with you.

What part of
"What about the fact that the EPA prevented fires for so long that excess vegetation built up to the point where a major fire was impossible to stop?"
is difficult for you to understand? The reason the arson's fires got out of hand is due to mismanagement by the ECCCPA.

Yes, I'm not disputing that it was the envirofags who are to blame for the SEVERITY of the fires - but the fires were started by arsonists.  This is not to say the fires are to be blamed 100% on the arsonist - because they wouldn't have been possible without the actions of the envirofags.  It is merely to say the fires were started by an arsonist and the envirofags created the conditions wherein an arsonist could do what the arsonist did, creating fires as bad as we saw.

Well that's what I just said.

Name: Anonymous 2007-11-01 3:32

It isn't industrialization, it is the envirofags' shitty envirofaggoty policies that prevent clearing away fuel for the fires, resulting in conditions wherein you can have a problem as large as the one we saw manifest itself so easily.
