Children have been sent to work in the salts mines since forever. It wouldn't make sense unethically speaking if they didn't. Are you a libertarian perhaps? As soon as kids are able to work, they're fair workers. It is only since the last 100 years in the industrialized west that brutal oppressive child labour is frowned upon. Why, I do not know. Perhaps because young teens are kept stupid. People used to found work camps purely for under 12s in the past.
Hell, even more and more 20 year olds remain childish and live a life without any responsibilities.
