Why I don't Vote

Name: Thelema 2007-07-18 9:26 ID:ND51XtS6

First of all, I'd guess that you're going to label me as an apolitical, apethetic, indifferent nihilist, but, this is not so and what's more, if you vote, I think that you are either the above or stupid.

Nowadays the classic reason of voting is 'the lesser of two evils' or 'this guy will fuck us up the least'. For a start, out of princible, this is not acceptable, voting for such reasons does not help the nation, you convince no-one of your reasons and the same idiots still thrive voting for George bush.

If I vote for someone it not only means I support him but the current system itself. If I support him, and he wins the election, it means that I am partly responsible for his political actions, which, again, is not acceptable. By voting it means I am complying to thier standards, that I should vote when they tell me to vote and only then.

By voting i am put in the same pool as every dumbwit redneck, it shows that they do not care for my opinion, but for my vote. It also means that they have power over me, power, which, I do NOT allow them.

Now you're thinking by not voting I am not going achieve anything while voting may slightly decrease the suffering, well, with this system, with this thinking, no third party may get in power, only two parties are really there, even then they are so similiar it doesn't matter, it also counts that they cling on to thier wasted ideals even when the figures prove them wrong.

You will get nowhere by voting, even if you convince others to vote with you, you are so diluted by OVER NINE-THOUSAND dumbwit rednecks. Whether you vote or not is of no consequence to any outcome, but atleast by not voting you are not unwittingly denying yourself of freedom and ka to boot.

If people don't vote en masse then the people in power will have to notice that they are not being accepted, but, they are still in power so they do not care, then, we shall see who the real dictators are.

Thelema, you should actually join the Democratic Party.  Your contempt for the democratic process would fit in well, there.
