Yes, their dislike for those within their community who do not behave as they do (read: speaking slang) is a universal problem in all cultures.
It just happens that whites have a cultural hegemony over all other cultures and our culture seems to be the one that all others must conform to.
For all I know, I could have been born into bizarro world where American Blacks and their culture ruled the world and current white culture was considered inferior. It would be myself then that would have to start talkin' da lingo and play their bingo, cuz otherwise i'd be psycho. ya hear?
But in America, there's no room for being what is labeled as "unprofessional," and there's no room for being overly professional for those who enjoy cerebral pursuits (as we can see, sports achieves higher attention than international diplomacy).
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, I understand where you're coming from, but whites and their culture has the distinguished status and at least semi-compliance with it would do someone wonders for trying to get a job and a place in society.
