Oh, I know exactly what you mean, and I know that living as a white person in America is living a privileged status and I throw these maxims around like it's their fault for not receiving an education. I know full well the problems of blacks receiving a proper education as funding for education is appalling in inner city schools.
What I will tell you though is that blacks do not like other blacks becoming educated. Now I know not all blacks do this, some blacks do this. What they do is, once one of their brothers decides that they want to get an education and lose the ebonics and talk English which will assimilate them into society, they accuse him or her for "acting white."
Is that not a disparaging term for any black who is trying to learn skills to be an autonomous individual?
