I'm a christian (I don't consider myself a part of a particular denomination) and a utilitarianist (like most christians I've met). The parts of my values that I expect others to follow (i.e. I vote for laws upholding them, argue that they should act differently in debates, etc.) are the ones that are purely utilitarianist and don't involve my faith. As for my faith: I believe it would be clearly immoral to ask someone to adopt those aspects of my outlook, but I do try to encourage people to do so, using the standard methods of compassion and example (turning the other cheek, etc).

That's my outlook. In your opinions, what should I be doing differently?
