Peak Oil?

Name: Anonymous 2007-05-26 19:43 ID:TT+7E3/p

I had to pay $3.15 for gas today.  wtf is up with that?

Name: Anonymous 2007-05-26 20:25 ID:/bVJIvBE

Well, oil is getting scarce and the middle east being arguably the most fucked part of world is not helping the prices

I had to pay $3.25ish the other day :/

well we've got a real problem... looks like we'll need to kill some more towel heads

Name: Anonymous 2007-05-26 21:36 ID:K7SxueGF

maybe you should stop driving vehicles with 7ltr engines eh fuckwits?

ah yes, it's just as easy as buying a whole new vehicle isn't it?  No problem, right?  I mean everyone has the time and money to go out, sell their old car and buy a new one that may or may not suit their needs.  simple right.  And doing so would some how bring down the price of gas, right?  no, you fucktard.  The oil industry needs to be forced out of price gouging.  Those asshole aren't even running their refineries at capacity.  Get the hippy pussy liberals to shut the fuck up about the environment for a minute and let them build some new refineries too.  Price will drop.  everyone will be happy again.  except that faggot hippy liberal douche bags.

who said stop driving at all fuckhead? i said stop driving cars with 7ltr fucking engines in them. maybe try, i dunno, 2ltr?

no wonder americas so fucked up, with stupid cunts like you walking around it's any wonder you actually found the fucking place to begin with.

where in my post did I say anything about you saying something about not driving?  don't play stupid little word games you faggot.

Name: Anonymous 2007-05-26 23:15 ID:ZsMRu6iP

I should also like to add in that switching to a 2ltr engine doesn't solve anything at all.  Paying 3.50/gallon is bullshit no matter what engine you're using.  The price of gas could easily be dropped if the greedy bastards at the oil companies just increased their production.

Oil is a commodity so the oil companies have little to no control over the final price of gas.  It's the same with farmers who have little control over the final price of wheat or beef.

They certainly do have control of the price because they control the production of oil.  No new refineries have been build recently and the ones currently in operation are working well below capacity.  Oil companies are keeping their production low which artificially creates a higher demand and thus higher prices.  It's really a load of bullshit when you consider they make shit tons of money even when prices are low.

"No new refineries have been build recently and the ones currently in operation are working well below capacity."

I thought that oil companies wanted to build a shitload more refineries but not in my backyard politicians prevented it.

Nuclear power is the future. Hippies can go live in Peru if they hate it so much.

nuclear power is the future to making the planet unlivable.

Controled nucear power is what we need or to use the radioactive material that is out there for energy.

you've never seen uranium mined have you...?

Name: Anonymous 2007-05-28 21:44 ID:fJaW/8Gl

yeah it's mined from the skulls of palestinian infants

There is as much radon in a ventilated uranium mine as there is in a ventilated coal mine.

Nuclear power is safe as long as it is not in a decrepid socialist state. Hippies whine about evil corporations cutting on safety costs when in fact they should be whining about evil socialists with insane economic policies.

Not physics fucktard. Tailings are the radioactive "left overs" from mining.

They are radioactive for 500,000yrs all the while leeching into the watertable.
