this will fail because they base it on the drivers license. They should reform the social security number, making it more secure and mandatory from birth, and then base any national ID on that.

ID cards are useful to people who travel a lot or work in security. If they are not mandatory and provided by contractors it's fine.

The selling point from the poli's who have n-fucken-idea is that it will reduce identity theft/fraud. Well anyone with half a fuckin brain cell knows that's a load of shit.
