World government

What's the best way to make this happen and get all the countries in the world to give up their sovereignty?
Military conquest?
Slow integration?

We already did, it was called the cold war with the west unified by the fact that they were all peace loving democracies and the east unified by being part of the same communist ideal. Except the countries in the socialist side kept killing each other.
