Sex Offender Registries

Was this really the best idea? I hate kiddie diddlers as much as the next guy, but where do you store their worthless asses and what stops vigilantes from giving them what they deserve, but are constitutionally guaranteed not to get?

Realize that though not all sex offenders are pedophiles,
this is still what comes to mind when you hear sex offender.

No it's not the best idea, it's abhorrently inhuman. The problem is that when someone plays the "think of the children" card you can't really counter it.

Sure, I hate pedophiles. But if resolving the pedophilia problem is very problematic and make us as worse as pedophiles because of vigiliantism, then I say that we should accept pedophilia and get over it.
