Recently in the senate, some legislation was introduced that would have regulated grassroots lobbying groups such as the ACLU, the NRA, GOA, etc. An amendment was offered by senator Bennett(R) that would have fixed the segment of the legislation in question to prevent potential damage to the first amendment rights of the people.
The following senators voted AGAINST the amendment offered by senator Bennett(R) that is currently defending the 1st amendment rights of grassroots political organizations such as the NRA, the ACLU, GOA, etc (http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=110&session=1&vote=00017).
